I read the reviews on this before deciding on a size. I usually buy an XL in cotton nightshirts to accomodate for shrinkage. I purchased the M/L and the fit is comfortable after washing/drying. Yes, the neck opening is large, but low scoop- not a wide-fall-off-your-shoulder opening. It did shrink up in length so it's now at the knee (I'm 5'8"), but the cotton is very comfortable.

I rated this a 4 instead of 3 because it has a little more than an ordinary knit sleeper. There is lace around the neck and the fit is perfect to size with a almost sweat pant lining. This gown is very pretty, but not well made. The neckline is extremely low cut and ends up hanging off one shoulder. I like scoop neck clothing, but this is very low. The width of the gown is generously sized, however the length shrinks greatly when washed...and the edges roll up.

I found that the sizing was way too big for me, even though I ordered the smallest size. By the end of the first night's sleep, the neck was hanging off my shoulder. I bought this item in my true size (18/20) and it was too big, so I ordered another one a size smaller and its perfect! I absolutely love this nightgown, makes me feel feminine, yet it's very comfortable! Besides, what's the down side to having to get a size smaller!!
